The R8 has an 8.0-inch display at HD resolution (1,280 x 800 pixels). For a device this size, that is a common trade-off between detail and power draw for professional outdoor use. The display can optionally be fitted with a sunlight-readable variant at 800 nits, which per the datasheet is actually standard equipment on this device.
Per the datasheet, the Durabook R8 reaches IP66 and is tested to MIL-STD-810H as well as MIL-STD-461G. IP66 means complete dust protection and protection against powerful water jets from any angle. The additional MIL-STD-461G test covers electromagnetic compatibility and matters most for use in safety-critical or military environments.
